Cisco Rice

Cisco Rice

Cisco rice is a really awesome dish you can find in Hakodate. Though this dish is only featured at one restaurant near the Red Brick district, locals (especially students) frequent this joint. So what is this Cisco Rice? Well, it is a plate of buttered rice with a kind of meat sauce and sausages on top. It might sound a little to bland and not special enough to some of you but let me tell you, the taste will just blow your minds away. The rice has just the right amount of saltiness from the butter and combine it with the sweetness of the meat sauce it like a match created in heaven. The sausage might seem to be there for presentation to some people but actually they get their sausages from a local sausage shop called " Carl Raymon". This is what makes this dish so perfect, not only the rice and sauce but the sausages on top. It is cooked just right where when you bite into it you still get the snap you are looking for when you bite into lets say a hot dog. Overall, I absolutely love this place and would recommend it to all you people out there who is thinking of dropping by Hakodate! Also, if you are planning to drop by to look at the beautiful night view of Hakodate, this restaurant is actually close by and you can have an early dinner and warm your stomachs before heading up to the mountain top!
