You probably heard of Genghis Khan before; the leader of the once all powerful mighty empire of Mongol. However, in Hokkaido, Genghis Khan is a name of a popular food. This dish resembles yakiniku but instead of beef, it focuses on lamb and veggies. Lamb is the most popular meat in Hokkaido and you will often find other dishes that uses lamb. After cooking the delicious lamb meat on the grill you dip it into a special sauce and bon appetite! I love Genghis Khan, more than any other meat dishes in Japan. There are many Genghis Khan all-you-can-eat shops in Hokkaido so just feel free to walk into one and try this amazing delicacy.
